Navigating Zoom for Screen Sharing and Viewing

  1. Minimizing Zoom While Sharing Screen:

    • When following along in the class, you may want to minimize Zoom to access your desktop while still viewing the shared screen.

    • Tip: To minimize Zoom while the instructor is sharing their screen, hover your mouse at the top of the Zoom window and click the “View Options” dropdown, then select “Exit Full Screen.”

  2. Adjusting Zoom’s View Options:

    • To switch between different views in Zoom (e.g., Gallery View or Speaker View), click the View button in the top-right corner of the Zoom window.

    • In Gallery View, you can see all participants, while Speaker View highlights the active speaker.

    • Tip: If the Zoom interface is covering important information during a screen share, you can hide it by clicking “Hide Video Panel” in the View Options dropdown.

  3. Zooming In and Out:

    • If you need to make the shared screen larger or smaller, you can zoom in or out by:

      • Pressing Ctrl + Plus (or Cmd + Plus on Mac) to zoom in.

      • Pressing Ctrl + Minus (or Cmd + Minus on Mac) to zoom out.
